Marco Bonilla’s journey is at the heart of MortgageMax. Arriving in the United States from Cuba at a young age, he faced many of the same challenges that first-time buyers experience today. After settling in Birmingham, he discovered a passion for helping others achieve the dream of homeownership.

MortgageMax was founded in 1996, initially serving the traditional market. Over time, the company evolved to serve a growing and diverse community better—expanding its reach and impact. Since then, we’ve helped thousands of families navigate every step of the homebuying process, from identifying the right property to understanding the details behind the paperwork.
